my first sweater

I knitted my first sweater recently, and I actually designed it myself which i think is pretty rad and swag of me! i'm going to put everything i can about my process below, like the whole pattern basically, so if anyone wants to try and make it, you can! it is sized to fit me, a 5'6 relatively skinny-ish person and i have no plans to do anything with the size of this thing, so if u want your own sweater, go read Knitting Ganseys by Beth Brown-Reinsel because i learned everything from that book.

materials and needle stuff

I used malabrigo arroyo yarn for this, which was super nice because it's superwash merino wool and it's SO SOFT. however it is expensive and i ended up using 5.5ish skeins (i don't know the exact yardage, but it's around (insert number here). it's also very fine, like sport-weight so there's a lot of stitches. i used us 1 needles for the cast on, and then us 3 for the remainder of the sweater, though in some places i wish i had gone back to the us 1s. i will elaborate later.
